Artomatic Begins!
Tonight Travis and I with baby Brielle in tow went to hang my artwork at Artomatic. Thank goodness my friend Monica Stroik who shares the space next to me painted my wall for me, with help from Rick. I was hoping to hang my art two weeks ago but Brielle was born two weeks early and not everything goes as planned especially with having a baby.
Brielle was so good, she laid in her stroller asleep without a peep. She just ate, fell asleep in the car, mom had a nap, and her diaper was changed. It's a perfect balance that can be hard to achieve sometimes.
So with having the wall already painted the show hung with ease. It took almost 2 hours. The volunteers were kicking us out at 9:55. We worked til the last minute. But of course there are a few things that need to be finished. Like hooking up the lights to an extension cord/power strip and fixing some of my adhesive letters. Travis will go back and finish. He is the best.
Hopefully we will be able to attend on opening night with Baby Brie. It will be her first art show. I am so excited.
Come see my work and Monica's work on the sixth floor right near the elevator, on the east side.
Artomatic starts May 29th to July 5th. It is located at 55 M Street, S.E. (at the corner with Half Street)
Washington, DC 20003
Metro stop: Green Line, Navy Yard, Ballpark exit
